About Le Mars Public Library

The City of Le Mars is hiring a Children's Librarian to join the team at Le Mars Public Library, a cornerstone of the community celebrating 150 years of service in 2026. This regular, full-time position works 40 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends, and focuses on delivering engaging library programs and services to children from birth through elementary age. The role also supports typical day-to-day library operations, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys both hands-on programming and behind-the-scenes library work.
The ideal candidate brings strong computer skills, with familiarity in library software and programming considered a plus. A high school diploma or GED is required, while a college degree and prior public library experience or education background are preferred. Bilingual candidates are especially encouraged to apply. Starting wage is not less than $23.98 per hour, dependent on qualifications, with an additional $1 per hour for evening and weekend shifts.
