As a Cook at our Le Mars center, you will play a vital role in supporting our Head Start programs by ensuring children receive healthy meals and snacks essential to their growth, wellbeing, and academic success. Your typical week will include 40 hours from Monday through Friday, allowing for stable, predictable hours and a great work-life balance. You do not need to be a gourmet chef—what matters most is your willingness to learn, your ability to follow menus and recipes, and your commitment to safety, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and either prior cooking experience or a genuine interest in developing kitchen skills. Responsibilities include meal preparation, grocery shopping, following meal plans, keeping accurate paperwork, and making sure that all food safety regulations are followed. To support our operations, you’ll need a valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
